The rope works expanded into a range of constructions that manipulated the entire gallery space. As each new experiment created a sense of a wider context Milliss began to use that context as part of the work. By this stage he was incorporating the gallery architecture into the site specific works, and also beginning to control the way the viewer could move in the space.
